The new currency will be called the ‘orué’ (‘euro’ written backwards) and it is part of an initiative by the Russafa Innova association to boost the economy and encourage socially-supportive, cultural, educational and environmental actions.
This electronic currency has been designed by the district’s own residents. Every time they buy something in euros, customers will receive ‘orués’, which they can then use to buy goods or services from neighbourhood businesses. This will help to combat social exclusion by helping out local businesses.
Good loock at all Social Currency initiatives
